I'm a bit of a world traveler, which is good, since I have worked on a cruise ship. Before that, I taught in the Canary Islands, China and Korea (and survived kimchi and study harder!) At the moment (and I hope this lasts), I'm a prep school teacher in Mexico City. (Actually, it didn't last--the school was more corrupt then Robert Mugabe and Kim Jong Il combined, phooey) At this moment again (and this should last), I'm teaching in Daejeon, Korea. I could say slightly nutty professor/Jewish comic type, but I don't think that helps all that much. I'm not into ignorance, stupidity, or the Bush administration--I also believe life is best lived experiencing and learning, not watching television. Finally, my idea of hunting has to do with finding a parking space--so rednecks please go elsewhere!

I am back in Evanston after 10 years out in the further 'burbs. While I liked having a parking space at every store I wanted to go to, it's very nice to back in a more walkable area. Having such easy access to the city has been great as well. I like to travel (who doesnât?), but have a lot left do. Iâve been to a large portion of this country, and look forward to seeing even more. I love road trips, especially if they take me across roads I havenât driven before. Iâve been to France a couple times, and would love to live there for 6 months or so sometime, and really get to know it. I was in Italy for the first time last summer (has it really been over a year already?), and will get back.

Enjoy movies, wine, good food, knitting, reading, biking, NYC, napping, finding the perfect gift, singing in the car (not very well), getting a close parking space when I'm running late, the Sunday paper, going out to breakfast, sunshine, Spring-everything is fresh, talking on the phone, the theater.

I am the type of person who doesn't look for the best parking space in the lot. I park in the the first space I can find and walk the rest of the way. I'm not picky about small things but rather about bigger decisions which makes me easy-going but also indecisive at times. I am not the type to settle when I know extra effort will pay off. I love to laugh and tend to find the humor in almost every situation. I am usually the one to make a sarcastic comment (but I know when to not be a jerk). My grandmother taught me to be a gentleman. I open doors and say please. I know how to dance, but it's been a long while. I am attracted to anything genuine when it comes to people, places or food. I try to be mindful of the things I consume. I believe in the principle of garbage-in, garbage-out. But, I'm still a big fan of Junior Mints and Project Runway. You just won't find me at a McDonalds. I am good on my own but so much better with a partner in crime.

I get a kick out of racing MUNI buses and cars while riding my bicycle all gonzo style though the streets of San Francisco. Not having to drive around looking for a parking space is great too! I always stop to pet dogs, and I even try to talk to them if nobody is looking. They usually look at me kinda funny when I do this. I love being outdoors, and I like to get outside as much as possible. Sometimes I wish that I was a National Park Ranger. I do have a very neglected and underused National Park Pass that I'd like to use more often.

So... "A naked blond walks into a bar, with a poodle under one arm, and a two foot salami under the other. She lays the poodle on the table. Bartender says, "I suppose you won't be needing a drink." The naked lady says..." Oh! Hey there, happy to see you. Have you ever wondered what the ending to that joke is? Do you know what that joke is from? So you are suppose to write a self-summary here. Well, I guess aside from knowing a useless movie quote or five, I am just a guy up at a late hour enjoying the quiet of the night. The music is off, the movie of the night long since finished, echoes of email long since silenced... but I am here awake. I thought it might be fun to extend a hand and a wink here. Maybe make a new friend? Who knows! So, what is my self-sum? Just a mellow, laid back kind of guy. Looking to keep life a bit more simple and less complex. Looking for his joy and a new reason to smile. I don't kick old ladies, step on cat tails, trip little kids, or steal someone's parking space.
