VOLUNTEERS NEEDED Prime Care Hospice is a hospice agency serving all of Maricopa County. We need kind and caring individuals who would be interested in sharing their time and talents with a terminally ill patient. Volunteers will sit with patients, read, pray, run errands, record their Life Stories, listen and just be a friend. We offer a variety of volunteer opportunities. Artscape 2010 Volunteer Opportunities Available

All volunteers must be at least 18 years of age and be willing to attend pre-event orientation session(s) specific to the volunteer activity and/or event. Hospice Volunteers Needed!

Hospice volunteers are an essential part of our hospice team. Not only do hospice volunteers serve their community, but they offer a priceless gift to our patients and their loved ones. A hospice volunteer may work with a patient in their home, assisted living facility, and in the nursing homes. We offer many different ways of volunteering your time. You may be a patient volunteer, a spiritual or bereavement volunteer or offer support to our team. A few ways a patient volunteer may offer their services is by by running errands for a family, reading to a patient, taking time to visit and listen to the patient, bringing your pet to a nursing facility to visit the patients, or simply offering companionship to the patient and family to let them know they are not alone. As a spiritual or bereavement volunteeryou may place phone calls to families, assist bereavement mailings, coordinating memorial services, and other support services to the hospice bereavement team.

Ragnar Northwest Passage Relay Volunteer

Do you need to volunteer for something for your education, résumé, job, or any purpose, or just like to do interesting things? This is a really unique and FUN volunteering opportunity! Ragnar Northwest Passage Relay (http://www.ragnarrelay.com/northwestpassage/index.php) is a 185-mile relay from Blaine, WA to Langley, WA on Whidbey Island. There are spots to volunteer all along the course and all times of day and night! The dates are Friday & Saturday, July 23 & 24, and volunteer shifts are a maximum of a few hours long. My relay team is struggling to find volunteers. We need three people. RWC July 4th Parade Volunteers Needed

The Peninsula Celebration Association (PCA) is seeking event volunteers for the 72 nd Annual Redwood City Fourth of July Parade and downtown festival. Volunteers are needed for set up on the evening of Saturday, July 3 rd as well as event support and tear down during the event itself on Sunday, July 4 th. The PCA is an entirely volunteer staffed organization which puts on the parade each year through a great deal of dedication and support from the community. Come do your part to support this wonderful local tradition! Volunteer duties include; setting up and taking down tables and chairs in the downtown festival area, monitoring parking lots, helping coordinate entries for line-up, collecting entrance numbers from units at the end of the parade, and much more. Benefits of Volunteering Volunteering is an excellent way for students to gain community service credit. If you require a letter certifying your volunteer hours simply notify the Volunteer Coordinator ahead of time.

Compassionate Care Hospice is currently seeking volunteers! We are seeking volunteers to offer companionship and support to terminally ill patients. The volunteer’s role is to be a supportive, caring person to our patients and their families in many areas of need. The volunteers schedule is flexible; most of our volunteers are working professionals and volunteer in the daytime, evening or on weekends as their schedule permits. All volunteers are placed with patients and facilities as close to their home or work as possible. Some ways that our volunteers help includes visiting patients to ease social isolation, calling caregivers and families to offer emotional support, reading, listening to music, playing an instrument, knitting, and even helping patients write life histories. For individuals who are not interested in direct contact with patients but would still enjoy helping hospice patients we are seeking office volunteers to assist with light office duties.
